Event Details

Explore using California native plants in the garden for their beauty and appropriateness in our Mediterranean climate, while gaining a deeper respect for nature and our place in it. Descriptions and cultural information of natives that work well in the Bay Area will be covered along with specific uses and innovative design ideas. Included will be a summary of Native American views; their approach towards the landscape along with their uses of plants as sources of food, dyes, medicines, and fiber. Delmar has served as horticulturist and designer for both public and private gardens throughout the state for 25 years. He has a passion for all plants and has a special place in his heart for native plants.
